The Super Rugby Primeblue kits were created to promote a message of sustainability within the sport of Rugby. By using recycled materials and a non-dyed fabric, the goal was to put the environmental message on the forefront.

Individually, the kits were also each inspired by the clubs home regions and sustainable stories that rang true to the hearts of the players, clubs, and most importantly their fans. The graphics were inspired by various topics such as the wind farms of Wellington or the protected glaciers of Christchurch
